Miriam Ogwel is a healthcare researcher, psychologist and Community Solutions Program 2022 alumni. She stands as a beacon of change, driving forward a vision of a more inclusive, technologically advanced, and mentally resilient society. Her work exemplifies the intersection of healthcare (mental health), technology, and social impact. Miriam’s previous advocacy work has encompassed education, women’s and gender issues, mental health, human rights, reproductive and healthcare rights.
Currently, she works with Nivishe Foundation in Kibra, whose primary focus is in reshaping mental health interventions among young girls, women, and youth in marginalized and vulnerable communities. Her most recent project is on research, designing and development of scalable mental healthcare models while leveraging AI in provision of mental health support. Miriam is proud to acknowledge there is so much potential for health equity for Africa in the horizon.
